The International Journal of Child, Youth, and Family Studies Review practices a non-blind peer review process. All submissions to IJCYFS Review will be initially reviewed by the managing editors to ensure alignment with the scope and aims of ICYFS Review. Those authors whose work fits with the goals of the IJCYFS Review will be matched with a peer editor whose task will be to support the author(s) to express their ideas with the greatest clarity, impact, and originality. Peer editors will start from the premise that the author has something worth saying and will work with the author(s) to assist them to formulate critical, creative, and generative pieces that engage with scholarship in the area of child, youth, and family studies.
Since these are short submissions (between 500 and 1500 words) we anticipate that this collaborative peer editing/mentoring process can take place within a one-month time frame. Final versions of the work will be submitted by the author (with a copy to the peer editor) to the managing editors for final approval.
All peer editors will be publicly acknowledged in the final work. Once submissions are posted to IJCYFS Review, we encourage the author(s) of the piece to actively participate in the digital conversation surrounding their contribution
